COOKIE’S “Wind down Friday” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”

COOKIE’S COMMENT

There was a time when I was so caught up in the busyness of my life that I didn’t take time to breathe much less count. What I have learned is that life is a series of moments and if I slow down, I catch them. One of those precious moments is when my grandchildren call me and ask me if they can come for a sleepover. Every time it happens it takes my breath away and my heart smiles.

This week, slow down long enough to savor those moments of your life.

Today, slow down long enough to savor the precious moments in your life.

COOKIE’S “Quick Start Monday” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

COOKIE’S “Quick Start Monday” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

“I get to play golf for a living. What more can you ask for—getting paid for doing what you love.” – Tiger Woods

COOKIE’S COMMENT

AMEN, Tiger! I am grateful to say that I love what I do and getting paid for it makes it even better. I am amazed at how many people have settled for less in the name of security. That comfort zone is real cushy, isn’t it? However, eight to ten hours a day is a long time to be miserable and resigned.
Today, ask yourself if you need an attitude adjustment or possibly a new career. Give me a call to see if I can help.

COOKIE’S “Wake Up Wednesday” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

“You are in charge of your feelings, beliefs, and actions. And you teach others how to behave toward you. While you cannot change other people, you can influence them through your own behaviors and actions. By being a living role model of what you want to receive from others, you create more of what you want in your life.” — Eric Allenbaugh

COOKIE’S COMMENT

Pretty profound wouldn’t you say!

Today, ask yourself if your role modeling is creating more or less of what you want in your life.

COOKIE’S “Quick Start Monday” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

“It’s not a problem that we have a problem. It’s a problem if we don’t deal with the problem.” Mary Kay Utech

COOKIE’S COMMENT

How many of you have ever ever played the roll of King or Queen of Denial? You know, that’s when you think that if you don’t think about problem it will go away. NOT! When I have played Queen of Denial, I usually clean house, go shopping, or work more. However, those activities don’t hold the same lustre that they did back then. What I learned was that the longer I ignored the problem the bigger it got. This was entirely too much grief and aggravation for me. So now, I handle them when they come up.

Today, ask yourself if there is a problem in your life where you are playing the roll of Queen of Denial? If so, how would your life be different if you handled it?

“Ninety-nine percent of the failures come from people who have a habit of making excuses.” —  George Washington Carver

COOKIE’S COMMENTS

I STAND GUILTY AS CHARGED! How many dreams have you had that you just talk about but never do anything about it as if it is going to miraculously fall out of the sky by itself. Fear of the unknown and what ifs have a way of causing mischief and keeping us stuck. Don’t you just hate it when that happens? The only failure that can happen is if we never take action.

TODAY, pick one thing you have been making excuses about and take some action.

We can’t change the past, but we can use it as a learning tool for creating new actions and possibilities in our lives.

Today, take your learning from one past experience and use to make a new choice for your future.

COOKIE’S “Quick Start Monday”

February 9, 2009

Good morning, everyone,

I don’t know about you but I had a fabulous weekend. The weather was gorgeous and had my granddaughter, Bella, spending the weekend with me. We had a fun time. And yes, I was counting my blessings. Enjoy you day!

COOKIE’S “Quick Start Monday” THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

“Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” –  Melody Beattie

COOKIE’S COMMENT

Before he past away, my Uncle Al was in the hospital after his first heart attack. As I stood beside his hospital bed, I remembered all the times he had been there for me since my Dad died. Reality hit me in the face that he may not be with me much longer. I wanted him to know how precious he was to me, so I told him how grateful I was to have him in my life and how much I loved him.

TODAY, take a moment to count your blessings. Write down 3 things you are grateful for in your life. See if it doesn’t brighten your day!

“If you love someone, hurry up and show it.”  ~  Rose Zadra, Age 6

COOKIE’S COMMENTS

Out of the mouth’s of Babes! Children are so spontaneous and genuine. They are like mirrors for us. They mirror back to us what it was like before we built all the walls around ourselves.

Today, take the time to show a spouse, loved one, friend, or co-worker how much you appreciate them. Say Thank You! And maybe even give them a hug.
